This class is designed to give you the best of both worlds. We combine moments of active movement with moments of meditative stillness to balance our bodies, minds and nervous systems. Suitable for all levels, this class features Titration Sequencing, which trains your nervous system for Heart Rate Variability (HRV) efficiency. HRV is often referenced with popular practices such as cold plunging. Classes often include suggested tapping methods and breathwork techniques to assist in nervous system regulation. *Breathe Oceanside is the only studio in Oceanside to offer this type of class.
Chakra yoga focuses on connecting the mind and body through focusing attention to specific energy points within the body. This class is a meditative flow that incorporates sound healing, essential oils and specific movements, mantras and breathwork designed to open up the energy points within the body and release any blockages holding you back. Feed your whole body wellness routine while aligning your chakras with this gentle yet strength building Hatha based practice. This class is suitable for anyone who wants to connect with and learn more about the Chakra Energy Centers.
Hatha yoga is a traditional yoga practice dating back thousands of years. The movements are slower, with postures being held for longer, typically 5-7 breaths rather than 1-2 breaths, as the more active movement classes do. A Hatha practice is very meditative and focuses on slowly building strength in the body. Hatha helps with balancing the body and calming the mind. This class is made available to all levels of students, from beginners to seasoned yoga practitioners. Hatha offers a perfect blend of stretch, strength and relaxation.
Yin yoga is similar to restorative yoga in that it is a very slow class where postures are held for several minutes at a time. This allows for the body to fully release into each posture over time. Props such as blocks, straps and bolsters can be used to assist you in deepening the stretch and impact of the posture just like restorative. The difference is Yin yoga is a deeply meditative practice that invites you to connect with your inner most self, to sit with the uncomfortable that arises and challenge yourself to go deeper in order to holistically nourish and heal your body and mind. Soundhealing is often included with this class to assist in the healing efforts of your practice.
If you are feeling ready to challenge yourself a little more in a nurturing and supportive environment, then join us for an active Level 2 flow. We move, SWEAT and breathe together as we challenge ourselves to try new things and push our limits. Have a little fun with your practice while learning new things, sweating out those toxins and strengthening the muscles. Options are given for variations of common yoga poses and headstand is likely to be one of your options ;) Reminder that advanced yoga is really done off the mat. A headstand won't make you a guru. To level up your complete yoga practice past asanas, it takes a dedicated spiritual practice as well.
Gentle Yoga classes focus on safely and gently stretching and lengthening muscles in the body that are commonly affected by stress & tension. Each class will incorporate gentle movement, breathwork, and relaxation. Bonus- On Tuesday mornings, Adrienne offers group reiki during an extra long savasana for her gentle yoga class. You really don't want to miss that!
Our restorative yoga classes are more like a yoga nap :) We use pillows, blankets, soundhealing tools, essential oils (oils are always optional) and nurturing, therapeutic stretches held for several minutes at a time to restore the mind, body and soul.
Chair yoga is a type of yoga that involves modifying poses so they can be performed while seated in a chair or using a chair for balance. It's a low-impact practice that can help people who have difficulty standing, moving between positions, or who want a break from sitting. Chair yoga can provide many of the same benefits as traditional yoga, including improved strength, flexibility, and mental well-being .
We now offer a discounted chair yoga class pack. Enjoy 4 classes for $65.00. Classes do not have to be used consecutively, the credits never expire. Use them as your schedule allows. Purchase the Chair Yoga class pack on the Memberships/Class Packs page.
